Scientific project

SmartBiodiv

Smart AI technologies for Biodiversity Research

Principal Investigator(s) :

Local Coordinator(s) :

Team(s) involved :

Members :

Denys Altukhov | Olivier Bun
The goal of SmartBiodiv is to combine data and new AI approaches to derive new indices for the state of natural ecosystems.
The project is organised along two directions: 1) harnessing the power of machine learning algorithms to complete and process sparse and imbalanced data that we often encounter in environmental sciences and 2) designing indicators to qualify the ecological status of the considered environments. We will study the potential of interpolation algorithms in time and space as well as predictive models based on co-occurrences.

DISCOVER OTHER PROJECTS

Sciences-Sur-Mer

As part of the Year of the Ocean, the Laboratoire d’Océanographie de Villefranche is actively participating in two major events: the One Ocean Science Congress and l’UNOC’3.
Our unit’s staff will take part in scientific discussions and associated events, and will also contribute to the “Sciences-sur-Mer” Festival (June 7–13, Villefranche-sur-Mer), which aims to strengthen the link between science and society by offering opportunities for dialogue between stakeholders and inviting both the general public and school groups to take part.
