Doctorant co-leading the Argo-Dome project that aims to develop an ocean observation framework for Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (ABNJ). His thesis addresses spatio-temporal variability, ecosystem services linked to the biological carbon pump, and three-dimensional management in the Thermal Dome off-shore Central America using argo floats to enhance decision-making aligned with the BBNJ agreement. Sergio is committed to promoting capacity building, equitable technology transfer and sustainable resource management. Co-founder of Colectivo Internacional Pelagos Okeanos and co-lead of the Biodiversity Task Force of DOSI. Project manager and underwater videographer. Co-author of >15 peer-reviewed publications.
