isotopic study of carbon and nitrogen cycles in a Neolithic agro-pastoral system
Stable isotopes of Carbon and Nitrogen are used as matter flow tracers between agricultural and pastoral spheres. ?15N and ?13C measurements are done on 1 / archaeobotanical remains: grains and grain threshing residues, plant residues that may have been usedas fodder and 2 / on phenylalanine (essential amino acid) and glutamine (non-essential amino acid) of collagen extracted from animal bones: domestic herbivores (sheep, goat, beef), wild herbivores, and some wild carnivores.

DISCOVER OTHER PROJECTS

Sciences-Sur-Mer

As part of the Year of the Ocean, the Laboratoire d’Océanographie de Villefranche is actively participating in two major events: the One Ocean Science Congress and l’UNOC’3.
Our unit’s staff will take part in scientific discussions and associated events, and will also contribute to the “Sciences-sur-Mer” Festival (June 7–13, Villefranche-sur-Mer), which aims to strengthen the link between science and society by offering opportunities for dialogue between stakeholders and inviting both the general public and school groups to take part.
